Genealogy HowTo - New Records for Tracking Your Scottish Ancestors
   By Karen Clifford, AG, FUGA
One "hot" item at the FGS Conference was the introduction to the Scotland's People Center by presenter, Joanna O'Rourke. She enthusiastically explained that all the records are being digitized at the key official genealogical records providers such as the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS), and they are being made available to the public in Scotland. For those of us in the U.S., the exciting news was that these original records will be made available online to those who wish to pay.

Ask Us - Writing Your Personal History by Aubrey Trivett
As your family history research takes you further and further back in time, each step uncovering bits and pieces of your ancestry, it is natural to begin wondering what your descendants will have to say about you. What sort of legacy will you leave behind? What humorous anecdotes, clever parables, or family legends will your great-grandchildren attribute to your name?

Reviews - "Guide To Finding Your Ellis Island Ancestors by Sharon D. Carmack"    a Chapter by Chapter Review by Cindy Carman
A very informative book that is not just a guide to Ellis Island records, but can also serve as a guide to immigration records in general. You will definitely want to have this book as a handy reference to immigration records of all sorts. It will help you discover where to find these records both on and off the internet and evaluate their usefulness and limitations.
