Research Interest: I am just being research on my fathers family, the Vandroff/Vandross. We spell it Vandroff even though his father named seems to be spelled Vandross I don't how it got changed to Vandroff. Anyway here is what i have maybe we can help each other. I am t rying to find out who are my ancestors on my fathers side of the family. His father was James Vandross born in Georgetown SC in 1897 and died in Mullins SC in Februrary of 1974. Throught looking at the 1920 census and the obituary of his sister who died a fews years ago I believe his mother's name was Lina or Liner Vandross and she was born around 1875 and her parents were Ceasar and Elizabeth Vandross, they also had another daughter according to the 1880 census i believe here name was millie and they h ad two sons as well Henry and Ceasar Jr. I just started working on this. My father's 4 oldest sibling have all died with the oldest dying last year so most of my research is coming from the internet and the South Carolina state archives which happens to be located here in Columbia where i live which is very convenient.
