Research Interests Forum Entry for PETER LOUIS VALBERT at BELFORT, ALSACE, FRANCE

Research Interest: I'm searching the VALBERT line- the father, mother, and family that stayed behind in Europe, that is. Three brothers, Louis, Francois, and Peter immigrated from Alsace, France to the USA about 1850. Their father's name was Peter Valbert, their mother's m aiden name was Fromm- not sure of that spelling. Louis said he was from 'Belfort'- there is both a town and department with that name. It is not far from Switzerland. A long time ago, there was a St. Valbert- from France and there were several Valbert pi rates documented that were linked by marriage to the LaFitte pirates. I love to find my connection- it must be there because Valbert is not a common name. I'd love to share stories of the Valbert's.
