Research Interest: William married Sara E. Gill don't know the date. Sara was either born in AR or Jefferson Co., IL or they could have been married in IL. Anyway, I am trying to find out about my family heritage through these two people. My great grandmother was Mary Magd aline Tarwater, born 1881 in MO and died 1959 in AR. She was the daughter of James Henry Tarwater the son of William and Sara, born 1852 in MO and died 1894 in AR. All this information is from research done by a cousin who is deceased, James Campbell. Wh at I am trying to find out also is whether we are of Native American heritage I have been told Mary was a full blooded Native American but haven't found proof. Somewhere above William is a Heinrich Thurwatcher, born in the 1600's in Germany and came to the United States in the 1700's, I believe this is what I have been told. The name Thurwatcher was changed to Tarwater as I know it. James married Delilah Elizabeth Barger, who was married to a Mr. Higgs before she married James. She was born 1894 in Mis souri and died 1940 in Arkansas. Mary and Franks daughter, Lillian my grandmother has the features of a Native American and I also have the features. My mother who took the Irish look from her dad and his side and other family members all swear we are Native American. Any help you could give me would greatly be appreciated. I just want to find out about my heritage and pass the information on to others in the family that are searching for answers also. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Sheila P.S. I just can't seem to get into the so called information online about people and I am a dummie when it comes to trying to get information. Again, Thank you for your help.
