Research Interest: Jacob Sailor b. 1746 Switzerland, emigrated to the American Colonies 1752 w/family: Father, Fridlin, Mother, Anna Catharina, and brothers, Matthies & John Ulrich. Served in Rev. War with Cumberland Co. PA militia w/rank of Ensign. 1790 moved family to Washington Co. PA where he bought 207 acres, called "Remainder." Jacob died at his farm in Buffalo Twp. in 1816. Samuel, Jacob's son, was 1st white man in what is now Morgan/ Noble Co. OH. His exploits are set down in History of Noble Co. OH by Watkins 1887. Samuel and his wife, Mary Simms Sailor, are both buried in Sailor Cemetery southwest of Sharon, OH.
