Research Interest: Have documentation on Joab Rains born Aug 12, 1770 who research point to his father being George Rains. There was a group of Rains men found in Randolph Co., N.C. in 1779 namely, Robert, Ishmael, George, Lawrence, and Anthony. In 1757 Anthony was born in Caroline Co., Va. and according to his Rev. War pension papers he lived there till he was 15, or 1772 when he went with his family, the father being dead to Randolph Co., N.C. He and the above men were founf in Randolph Co., in 1779. Need to document th ese five as family
