Research Interest: I am trying to locate where, exactly, Christina Patzer, my g-g-grandmother, was born. I know her DOB is 11-2-1832. She emigrated to America when she was 17. Possibly 1849-50 time frame. She entered the port of New Orleans, sailed up the Mississippi River to somewhere in Wisconsin. She had a brother in Wis. Do not know his name. Do not know where she got off the boat in Wis. She did settle in Watertown, Wis where she married a John Jones from NY in mid 1850's. They had seven children. He was a shoemaker. I am interested in finding Christina's parents names, DOB/DOD, location and their parents names etc. Any information would be very much appreciated. Christina simply did not one day appear and she certainly didn't walk on water to get here. I have hit t he proverbial deadend. The family info down through the generations had her coming from Hannover, Saxony Prov, Alsace-Lorraine, which according to the German info I received, never existed. I figured they ought to know. So I have, through contact with a gentleman in Frankfurt/M, determined she probably was from Prussia. I've also been told the Patzer name is common in the old Prussia area and northern Germany. Again, any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks. I hope someone, somewhere will have info for m e.
