Research Interest: Jasper Jacob Parsons was my Great Grandfather. He had many talents and traveled a great deal. He was born about 1851 in Indiana or Ohio. He was married first to Hester Etta (Hattie) Newman about 1871 in Linn County Iowa. He died about 1916 in Oklahoma (location unknown). He had several wives. He was a Mason. He is supposed to be one of the first teachers of Indian Schools in Oklahoma. It is believed he may have married an Indian girls and had a family in Oklahoma. I located a JJ Parsons in Oklahoma who had 2 or 3 sons. But further details of him are unknown. He was in CA, MI and MO. Hester Etta Newman was my Great Grandmother, was born in 9 Aug 1854 in Hendricks, JC, Indiana. She died on 6 Feb 1880 in Toddville, Linn Co, IA. I would really appreciate any info that can be given on Jasper Jacob Parsons and of course any of his other families. We share a great grandfather--doesn't make a difference how. Jasper Jacob's father was Lewis Parsons and his m mother's name was Ruth. He was born in Kentucky and she was born in OH. Ruth's father was born in Germany and so was Lewis's. Jasper and Hester (Hattie) had 3 little girls, Iva Ellen Parsons (my grandmother being one of them).
