He was there until around 1850 or earlier, then moved to Lanarkshire, Scotland he got married to Mary Murphy on September 24, 1884. Arthur was a coal miner. Arthur had two brothers: Alex and Johnny. - Alex used the last name Lafferty and settled in Cambuslang and Glascow, Scotland. He had a big family. - Johnny immigrated to the USA but returned to Scotland and built cottages. - His son John also went to the USA to teach school somewhere near or near Boston, Massaschusetts. I am a direct decendant of the Lavery clan. My mother is the grand daughter to Arthur Lavery and daughter to James Arthur Lavery, she was born in Alberta Canada in 1937, she was one of 5 children.
