Research Interest: My grandfather belonged to the Landmesser family who were in the contracting business in Council Bluffs, Iowa in the last half of the 19th century. His given name perhaps, his middle name was Jennings. He was born on Feb 18, 1895. He emigrated to Ca nada around the beginning of WW1. He had a brother, Elmer, who had no children. Elmer married and moved, for a time, to California. William Jennings Bryan was purported to be a very close friend of my great-grandfather and agreed to be godfather to my grandfather. I am interested in learning more about my ancestry i.e. who his parents were and where and when they emigrated to the United States from Germany .
