Research Interest: Searching mother born April 20, 1908 Brighton, England. Cannot find a birth cert. for that name and date. Orphaned and raised we think in Alberta, Canada in catholic convent. Married in 1930 in Edmonton, Alberta to Thomas William Quaife. They had 4 chil dren. After his death in 1933 she married Walter Wraight in Veteran, Alberta. They had 4 children. I am one of the daughters I was born in 1939 in Alberta. My mom's name was Alice Ellen Hayes or Hays or Heys or Heyes. We found we have a sister born in 1926 in Edmonton. She was born Phyllis Hays to my mom who was unmarried at the time. She was renamed Margaret and adopted by William Thomas and Ruth Honor Hays nee Johnson of Alberta and Ontario.We find this most odd that her name and adoptive pare nts share the same surname.
