Research Interest: I am looking for the decedents of Moses Harris from Poland. He arrived in Cook County Illinois in abt 1866. He was Married to Mary unknown surname. They were both Jewish and both from Russia/Poland. In the 1880 census they are listed as having 7 chil dren Sarah, Abraham, David, Isaac, Ette, Frank and Samuel. I know from my uncles' stories that Moses was a Junk Dealer or Scrap collector. He demolish building in Chicago and the sold the bits and pieces he collected for the jobs. My uncle told me tha t he once demolished a church with a gold embossed dome. He was able to sell all the gold from the job. So far, I have only found him and the family in the 1880 federal Census. I also found Moses and Mary in the Illinois death index.
