Research Interest: AMBROSE HARNAGE was born 1790-1800. The Cherokee Indians say he was born in England--others say Columbia Co, Georgia. Who are his parents Some say his father might have been Isaac Harnage because there was an Ambrose Harnage listed on the land lottery list as orphan of Isaac, but he didn't inherit any land. AMBROSE HARNAGE married a 1/2 Cherokee woman, Nancy or Nannie Sanders and they had 5 children. Ambrose took Nancy to Washington Co. AR abt 1832 she died there in 1834. By 1839 AMBROSE HARNAGE marries ANN E. BOBO RAY WASHINGTON. In 1841 their daughter LORETTA HARNAGE my direct ancestor is born. By 1843 Ann is listed on the property tax list so he has to have died. He died 20 Oct 1842 so the Cherokee Historical Society says but they don't know where he is buried. Locations WASHINGTON and CRAWFORD CO, Arkansas and COLUMBIA CO, Georgia.
