Research Interest: My father, William Albert Francis Thomas Harbeur MacPherson, b.March12, 1924-d.May 17,2007, adopted himself to David B. MacPherson sometime in the 1940s when there was a joke going round about Pearl Harbor. I remember seeing a news clipping of it. His Fa ther, Albert Harber/Harbor/Harbeur/whatever, disappeared when my father was an infant. I heard he was declared legally dead. However, in 1975, I recall a photograph that was sent to my dad when he was still married to my mother, Anne Miller MacPherson at our home address. I saw Albert 5-7 children, 2 of whom looked EXACTLY like my father they had to have been in their 50s. I only know that both my father Albert had to write some national agency in order for them to communicate to each other, when Albert started sending letters and fruitcakes, my dad never answered him. He gave me his blessing for me to research the family, but couldn't give me any info, as he was beginning to suffer from dementia shame, he was brilliant. I want to know if I can find/c ommunicate with Albert's children some may already have passed away, as they were close in age to my dad, but I don't know their names/spellings. My Father was named William Francis Harbeur on his birth certificate, but his fathers last name read Allen, o r Alan. My Grandmother's name was Helen Waldmann, but may have been spelled with one n. She Later married David B. MacPherson. Records were screwed up back then, I know, But I am told HARBEUR was the original spelling, of which I have NEVER found on ANY genealogy site. My only guess is that it was a taboo name of German-Jewish origin - I have been told from someone of German descent that the eu is in place of the U with the double dots over it. Last I was aware, the family was living in Florida. C an U help me Locations New York, Michigan, Florida, USA
