Research Interest: William Haney was in the civil war 10th regiment Tennessee cavalry 1863 to 1865. He was married to Martha J __. The story says he changed his name because he killed someone. Martha J was married into the Brooks family but he was her husband and was buri ed a Haney. My interest is this, is he really William or W. M. Haney or is he William Haney Brooks He came from Georgia. He is buried in golden grove Weslyan church cemetery in Liberty, South Carolina as Wm Haney 10th regiment Tennessee cavalry.
