Research Interest: Looking for information on Family of John Hancock b. Aug 12, 1830 in Wyalusing, PA Bradford County. He was the son of Jesse Hancock and Louisa M. They died when he was 4 and 7 and wonder who raised him and his brothers and sisters. I believe John's m iddle name was Henry. Jesse's father was Isaac and mother Jemima Van Horn, and William b. 1705 and Sarah Dawson were Isaac's parents. They were from Philadelphia. Am interested in information on Winfield Scott Hancock lineage as he is supposed to be a cousin of My great grandfather, John, but I can find no proof. John was a lawyer in Oshkosh, WI married to Jennie Reardon from Ireland. I am also interested in the Austin family, John and Ovilla from Maine originally. They were grandparents of my grandmother, Eva Austin. Eva was born March 29, 1867 in Garden Valley, WI to Edward J. Austin and Sarah Roscoe. She married John Henry Hancock, Jr. , my grandfather.
