Looking for any information on George Hammerschmidt married Margaretha GERHART. I understand he was in the German Navy prior to their coming to the USA about 1880. I also understand that they were married aboard ship while traveling to the USA. Upon get
ting to the USA they settled in Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where both died, Margaretha in 1914 and George in 1915. It is possible that the spelling of the Hammerschmidt name was changed from Hammerschmitt. I am also interested in any othe
r information on any of the Hammerschmidt family lines. Thank you in advance.
