Research Interest: I am trying to gather all the Hairs in the U.K. My direct interest is in Northumberland and Durham. 1700-Now. Pre 1700, a broader search including the Hare spelling. There seems to be More Hair's in America, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand than here i n their Homeland the British Isles. Who left and why The surname is supposed to be Scots/Irish of the Dalridian's but I can find no reference to that on the net nor any clan or sept associations for Hair/Hare.
