Research Interest: My great or great great grandfather was Nicholas Garboden. He came to NC from Germany with his wife identified only as frau. They brought their daughter Carolina and their sons Henry A and Christian to America. They had two sons in North Carolina. T hey were William and Lewis. Somehow some of the Garbodens wound up in Hamilton Co, Indiana while others remained in North Carolina. My grandfather, Theodor Garboden came from Hamilton Co. His son was Archibald and he migrated to Pittsburgh, PA with his s ister Elsie and her husband John Murphy. The name Garboden is a modern name that appears first in Germany in the 1700s. Despite the individuality of the name records prior to 1870 are scarce. I am anxious for any information. If you can help, you can rea ch me through BALLESTRINO@AOL.COM looking forward to your assistance. -Bruce
