Research Interest: Carrentan-Carrington-Cainton-Canton Dixon is found in 1820 census of Indiania with other Dixons, then he married 1822 to Rachel Williams in Orange Co. Indiana and they lived in French Lick, Orange Co. Ind. and raised several children there and in Paoli , Ind. In 1823, Rachel denounced their marriage outside the Friends Church. Carrentan may have been disowned or not in the Quaker Church at the time. No info. The last child, Carrington Dixon was b. 1845-6 and thats the last info about Carrington, Carrentan Dixon found. Rachel Williams Dixon is found 1850 in Paoli, Ind. 1860, she is living with two person in Paoli, Ind and in 1870, she is in Schuyler Co. Ill. census as Rachel Dickson with Jonathan Dickson and Wheeler Dixon four lines above her . In 1880, Rachel Dixon 76,W F NC is living in Adair Co. Missouri with Wheeler and daugher Rachel Dixon 13. Rachel Dixon raised the children of this marriage as Quakers because when my second Great grandfather John William Dixon came to Jewell Co. Ks., him and second wife Elizabeth Dishon Dixon went to the Walnut Creek Friends Church in Jewell Co. Ks and members before 1880.
