Research Interest: I believe that Isaac Dison in the 1830 Census in Sevier County, Tennessee is my ggg-grandfather, the father of possibly four male children in North Carolina--James, Eli, William, and Daniel, two children in Tennessee--Elijah and Elizabeth or Eliza, and p ossibly a male child in Alabama--Calvin. He is said to have married Charity Edds in Stokes County, NC in 1814 however, there were no living children until James in 1819. Five long years After that, they had children every two or three years. Family oral history has Isaac married to Mary Long, but I cannot find any record of such a marriage or proof in any form. If anyone can shed light on the life of Isaac Dison that fathered many of the Disons of Central Alabama, I would be most appreciative of that information.
