Thomas DeVane and Marguerite de Conde DeVane allegedly came to
this country from France during the early to mid-18th Century
from France. I cannot verify this information. I can find
that a family of that name lived in New Hanover County, NC and
that certain of their sons fought in the American Revolution.
I cannot find any verifiable evidence that the patriarch or
matriarch of that family came from France, Scotland, England
or Barbados. Can anyone help. I can only trace my family to
New Hanover County in the mid-1700's.
