Research Interest: Eleanor Davies is my Great Grandmother born 1854 in Staffordshire UK.She married John Evans born in West Bromich 1846.Known children.Annie born 1874. John Thomas born 1876. Walter Rheubin born 1880.My Grand father Benjimin born 6th April 1872 in Halmer s End, AUDLEY. Staffordshire.England.UK. When Benjamin married a Mary Jane Gavin in The Holy Trinity Church in the Parish of Hope,HANLEY.Staffordshire.England.UK. JOHN EVANS an Engine Driver his Dad was a witness at the wedding and the home address wa s given as 36 Travalgar Street, where one assums our ELEANOR nee'DAVIES was with him The bride Mary Jane Gavin lived at 40 Travalgar Street, Mary's Dad being a Lawrence Gavin, a Placer. As I have been unable to trace the actual birth of ELEANOR DAV IES or JOHN EVANS or the marraige of the same, I began to feel that perhaps they were wed in a Methodist Chapel, as I was christened in a Methodist Church. Taking this line I made a few contacts but alas no results so far. I was told however that a JOHN EVANs had lived in PROVIDENCE COURT, which was in fact near to a Methodist Chapel,named PROVIDENCE CHAPEL.Whether it was our ELEANOR'S JOHN, perhaps one day I will find out. I beleive that these details were in the locality of Hanley. Staffordshire. Also Eleanor may have had a sister named Annie Please if someone out there can help I should be very grateful.
