Research Interest: My father was born either in Conn. or Mass. He lived for the first two years of his life in Champlain, N.Y. His father's name was Allyn James Renney not sure of the spelling . He moved to California between 1930 to 1934 and changed the family name to D avidson . He lived in San Francisco, California for a time and then moved to Colfax, California and lived there until his death. He married Alice Marie Butler. American name for the French Boutiallier Again, not sure of the spelling. They had four ch ildren. Allen James Renney/Davidson James Diane and Ralph. My father had no birth certificate although he served in the armed services. He died in August 14, 1969. I believe he was discharged from the service in 1951 or1952. The family has Cherok ee heritage on my Grandfathers side. His great-grandfather was supposedily full-blooded. The family that knows some of the history has all died. Oh, yes, My grandfather Allyn Renney/Davidson had two brothers, one Floyd and the other Bill. They always kept the origional name Renney. Their mother's name was Lillian. I have no maiden name for her. Anything you could suggest, I would appreciate.
