Research Interest: I am trying to find out the names of the parents and siblings of my great-great grandmother, Jane Adaline Danforth, who was born in Massachusetts, and who married Sherman Fairchild, my great-great grandfather, somewhere in or near Mexico, Oswego, New York. Sherman was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Mexico, Oswego, New York. Sherman was the son of Harmon Fairchild and Ruth Jennings the daughter of Abraham Jennings and Charity Risdon Abe fought in the Revolutionary War in CT . Sherman was born in Stratford, Fairfield, CT and moved with his parents to New York. He married Jane Adaline Danforth somewhere in New York. They had two children born in New York Marshall, born in 1840 and my great-grandmother Nancy Jane, who was born in 1842 in Mexico, New York. Jane and Sherman moved to Medina, Ohio and had seven more children Daniel Sherman, Charles Harmon, David, William, Ezra Noble, Ella Viola married a Richardson and is buried in Gratiot, Michigan with her father S herman and Adelia Alice. Jane Adeline died when she was in her forties or sixties and is buried in Pike Township, Fulton County, Ohio. Sherman married again to a Miss Hitchcock and he was married in the 1st Presbyterian Church in Mexico, Oswego, New York. I have checked the church records. I want to discover the names of Jane Adaline Danforth Fairchild's parents. She had a grandson named Claude Danforth Fairchild, which could be a clue. Jane's death certificate says that she was born in Massachusetts. I suspect that she was a member of the large Danforth family there that was descended from Nicholar Danforth of Framingham, England. Jane Adaline Danforth was born in 1818 in Massachusetts. She had nine children, and none of her d escendants seemed to know anything about her. Please help.
