Georg is my husband's grandfather. His son my father-in-law remembers little about him, as he left the family about 1930. His son, Ernst Dahm, came to Canada in 1949. He believes his father Georg was born in Kolomea Kolomyja , which was then pa
rt of Poland, but is now part of Ukraine/Russia. It is believed that the family originated in Germany, although it is not known where, as Ernst was returned there probably in the 1939 resettlement of Germans , and served in the German army during
WWII. We are trying to locate any information about Georg Damm, who first married Matilde Dorn umlaut over the o , then Barbara Heuchert. Ernst was born in 1923, so we think that Georg was probably born around 1900.
