Research Interest: I am interested in finding this lineage for the purpose of knowing who my ancestors are. It starts from Portugal, from the Isle of Maderias'. What I know is this This given name above which I've entered is that of my great-father, I have other names t o enter, but not enough space to enter them. I beleive, this man, John da Costa was born in Maui,Hawaii or in Portugal, where, I do not know. Although, I do know this from that of my relatives. John da Costa was married to Helena Cordeiro de Souza de Med eiros, How they immagrated to Hawaii is another fact I do not know. How they ended up on the Island of Madeira is another tale. From what I gather, and the story that has been told to me is this Someone in this lineage was or in fact related to the Quee n of Portugal, a house of royalty. Which royal line, I still do not know. I beleive it could have been a Queen Consort. And the story goes, relations could have been that of a cousin to the Queen. Which dynasty, another mystery. I understand that through an uprising, a revolt, or that of a coup', the royal family exiled themselves to the island of Madeira. This I know, from what relatives have told me as a young person interested in such, as my lineage is concern. This topic is what I am more interested in. How did the family end up on the Isle of Madeira, and how did they immagrate to the island of Maui, Hawaii. And what did they sacrafice to do so, by giving up their Royal Lineage Any source to these so called rumors, I would like to clarify as real stories, that actually happen to that of my ancestors.
