Research Interest: John Cruikshank was my great grandfather. He once owned a coal mine in shamokin, Pa, and lived in historic houses in Yorktown, Va. He was a Civil war soldier. I am trying to find when his parents came to this country from Scotland, possibly Edi nburgh or nearby. i am also trying to find the children, grandchildren, and possibly great-grandchildren of his brother whose name might have been James and who might have had a son named John Colin Cruikshank.
