Research Interest: William James Craig was born in Scotland c 1789. He came to Nova Scotia, possibly as a soldier sometime between 1810 and 1820. His first wife, Agnes (possibly Watson) died 18, Sept, 1823 in Halifax. They may have been married in Scotland. He remarrie d Susan Ann Tufts, 13, April, 1824 at St. Paul's in Halifax. He was also reportedly the first postman for Halifax. I would like to trace him back into Scotland. His name, however, was very common and I need more information to be sure I'd be tracing t he correct William Craig. If you have any information that may be helpful, please let me know.
