Research Interest: I'm trying to find information regarding my paternal grandfather's father, Jackson Cox. I know that he was born in Indian Territory and married in Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma to Ora Ruffin on September 12, 1905. He was 29 and she was 19. Unfortunately, t his marriage appears to have failed because I located Ora living with her parents, George and Matilda Ruffin, in 1910 shortly before they left during the Great Migration to Canada. Jackson Cox also remarried in 1910, as well, I believe. In 1910, my gra ndfather was approximately five years old. I don't know if they were actually divorced but, in any case, she met and married a man with the last name of Tyler. If they were never properly divorced, then my legal name should have been Cox. I would just like to learn something about my Cox genealogy. After all, this man's blood flows through my veins. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
