Research Interest: Ransom P. Cook was the father of Dwight Paul cook and he lived and was born in Connecticut. His children according to the History of a county in New York moved to Ohio and that is all I know of the children other than my own line of Dwight P. COOK born in Conn. in 1823. His mother was Polly and from different searching people wonder if Polly was her last name instead of first. Had a marriage of 1820 with a Mary and Ransom but didn't prove this to be my line. If so then this proves my theory that t he Polly was a last name. I did find the last name of Polly in that area of Conn. So could be possible. They both died in the same state in New York where his brothers also lived. John was one of them. These brothers confused the lines by naming their c hildren after this deceased brother. So there are alot of Ransom COOK's. Appreciate help on this since I know nothing for facts on this line.
