Research Interest: I have just started and don't know much. I do know that George Washington Clarke died in Trewigtown, PA sometime in the early 1970's. There's not much about the Stortenbeckers that I know. I have a cousin 2nd or something in Dayton, OH, Brian Stor tenbecker, who traveled to Germany and found a castle with a Robin Hood type legend attached to it with our name. I've also been told that our name, Stortenbecker, is an alias, and was originally Stortenheimer. I don't know which is true. I have also heard of some Stortenbeckers out in Iowa and Nebraska. Any info about these names would be greatly appreciated.
