Research Interest: Uncertain as to date and place of birth. Thought to be 1803 in North Carolina. I have viewed records of a Moses Chambers in Person County, NC. That Moses Chambers, who is oft-times listed by others as being of our Chambers line, is totally without merit, and is simply wishful thinking by those who persist in attaching our line to that gentleman. That Moses Chambers never migrated west and is buried in Person County, NC. The County records prove neither he, nor his parents, Abner and Jemimah Chambers ar e of our line. Our Moses apparently lived a shadowy life as there is not much known about him, record-wise. Last documented info Marriage records, Blount County, TN. Married Dorothy Partin, 10 May 1826, by whom he fathered twin boys. It is thought Dorothy died in childbirth. Next,Moses either married or took up with a Ruth Hamilton, though no record has been found to indicate a marriage. The Chambers - Hamilton union, however, produced my GGGrandfather, Charles Hamilton Chambers, born Blount Cty , TN, 30 Apr 1829. And with that, Moses and Ruth Hamilton disappear from the Chambers scene.
