Research Interest: I am the great-granddaughter of William and Ellen Chadwick, both of whom immigrated from Lancashire England to Pennsylvania in the late 1800's. Wm. was a coal miner and he and Ellen had 8 or 9 children. Both of them died at a young age and my paterna l grandfather, also Wm. Chadwick, was the oldest. At 12 he went to work in the Pennsylvania coal mines to support his family. He eventually moved to Indiana to work the mines there. He married my grandmother, Ura, and they had two sons, Jack my fathe r , and James. I am just beginning to try to find out more about my Chadwick ancestors.
