Research Interest:
James G. Carwin was born in Livingston, New York in 1827. He was an M.D. in the state of Iowa, county, johnson, town Pleasant Valley which would now be Iowa City, Iowa. He was buried in the Oakland cemetery, same town in 1865. I am able to trace his
wifes family back to the 1600 s, but cannot find his parents or any of his relatives. There is a possibillity that he changed his name from Smith to Carwin. This change would have happened sometime between the dates of 1840-1850. James was born in 182
