Adam Carpenter is my gggrandfather who was born in Pennsylvania around 1816/1817 or maybe 1834/1835 got the place and estimated dates from Clay Co., Indiana 1850/1860/1870 census's . It appears that he married a Rachel DeVore around 1842 and they h
ad several children, Parentha, James, Marcus, George, mary Ellen, Martha J., and Bruce Adam Carpenter. Rachel died in 1860 in Clay Co., and Adam married Ann Elizabeth Reamy 19 mar 1861 in IN. Ann Elizabeth was b. 27 Sep 1830 in Zanesville, Muskingu
m Co., Ohio daughter of Jacob Ashbury and Mary White Bonnifield Reamy of Muskingum Co., Ohio. While living in Clay Co., Indiana they had 6 children Thaddeaus Reamy, Jacob A., Herschel C., Leonidas Pembroke, Olive Bell, and Emma Pearl Carpenter. Ann El
izabeth died around 1877 in Brazil, Clay, Indiana and I know her daughters went to live with their Uncle Thaddeus Ashbury Reamy and Aunt Sarah in Cincinnati, Ohio. Some of the sons were sent to live with relatives in Oklahoma as the family legend go
es. I am trying to nail down information about Adam like who were his parents, where was he really from, when/where did he die I can't seem to find him after Ann's death, however a possible lead is that I found a Adam and a Thad Carpenter correct a
ges back in Bedford, Harrison, Pennsylvania in the 1880 census living with a Levi and Margaret Carpenter, which may be my gggrandfather Adam and his son. From what I can gather Adam was a farmer and a miller. Any help or leads would be most helpful
or even pictures.
