Research Interest: This John, known as the soldier, is my fourth gr-gf. He was born presumedly in Maryland, moved to Va Fauquier then enlisted in the rev war in 1781. After the war he led his family and friends to new lives westward thru the Shenandoah Valley. Some se ttled in Ky, Tenn, NC, and some to Ohio. This man is the great mystery to all of us who share this line. He is almost impossible to find on any census, tax lists, etc until he has been in Ohio for several years. His death date is 1849 in Scioto County, Ohio. He has at least two brothers Thomas and Truman. His wife was a Margaret----- PLEASE this is NOT the same John as married Barbara Walls. It is his cousin we think. Anyone with ANY info please mail or call me. mlc4059@yahoo.com Mike Canter
