Research Interest: Eleanor Pennington Byers was a Duchess related to the royal family of England who travelled with her parents and sisters and other relatives by ship to Canada as a young girl. Both parents died and were buried at sea during the trip--leaving the children to be raised by relatives in Canada. She had sons and a daughter who was also named Eleanor.She married a doctor, her sons became physicians also and her daughter married a doctor by the name of Oscar Hopper and they settled in Stanton, Nebraska. Oscar and Eleanor had sons named Eardly, Stanley and Corliss Hopper.I am the eldest granddaughter of Corliss and his wife Irene Hopper. Irene is 85 and the oldest remaining relative. I am interested in learning more about the family history of the Duchess Ele anor Pennington.
