Research Interest: Have gone back this far in my mother's paternal family history. 1869 is the date of my great-great grandfather Madison VanBuren Bruce's birth. One of his sons was John Marion Bruce, my great-grandfather. I have a cousin named James Robert Bruce, and s ince I have fairly recently become interested in Scottish history, especially the time of the Second Reformation and the Scottish Covenanters, I'd like to know how far back I can go in family history, and perhaps find out where these Bruces came from.
