Research Interest: John Brophy was tried in Maryboro, Ireland on 5 August 1824 at the age of 21 years. His native place was Queens County. He was sentenced to life and transported to Sydney, Australia on the ship "Asia". He arrived on 21 February 1825. Our ancestor, Michael Callaghan's death certificate showed his father as being John Brophy. We know nothing more of John Brophy other than what I've written. Can anyone help with information about the reason for the son's name change, his parents or life?
