Research Interest: John Brophy was born in Dublin, employed as a gunmaker before enlisting in the 8th Foot Kings Liverpool Regiment. He left Dublin with the Regiment iand eventually went to India with the Regiment as an Armourer Sgt. He married Marian McCormack Munday, and they were my G.G.Grandparents. Sgt. Brophy died in India in 1848. I am seeking his date of birth and parents. They were R.C. I have one possible bur no confirmation to date, of a John Brophy born on 03.02.1823, parents Mic. Brophy and Cath. Sp onsors Mic.Haigdor and Eliz.Hawkins. Birth registered in Rathfarnham Parish, Dublin. Need to know where to obtain Birth Certificate.
