Immigrated with wife Catherine and brother John from Alsace Lorraine, France about 1830. Had 2 children Mary Catherine b. 12/25/33 and Jacob, Jr. b. 1/15/37 both in Cincinnati, OH. Surname has been spelled Brichard, Brickett, and Breckart in various
documents. Brother John purchased land in Illinois 1838 as John Brickard. Jacob Sr. died 1838-39, Cincinnati. Daughter Mary Catherine placed St. Peter's Orphanage, Cincinnati shortly after, and presumably son in a similar institution for boys. Cath
erine Brickard remarried a few years after Jacob's death and probably took daughter with her about 1848. She was living in Greensburg, IN in 1870, died about 1890. Any info appreciated. Thanks
