James Alexander Bradley was born in Rutherford or Old
Tryon County in 1803. He was a son of John Bradley. One
known brother-Jonathan H. Bradley. Alexander married
Elizabeth Goldsmith and Jonathan married Sarah Goldsmith
as his 2nd wife. Both brothers lived in Buncombe county
N.C. Rufus E.Y. Bradley was the 12th child of Alexander
and Elizabeth Bradley. Rufus had the following children
