Research Interest: I am interested in finding the ancestors for John Richard Bott born 1792. He emigrated to Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1822. He was an English Magistrate and a school teacher. He was married to Ann Susan D. Picot. Her tombstone located in South R ustico, P.E.I. states she was a "A Native of Jersey" I am descended from this family and the name Bott got changed to Botts. I am very interested in finding out more about our heritage. We have a bleeding disorder in our family and my brother has A-Negative blood, which seems to be in short supply as the Red Cross phones him several times a year looking for donations. I would appreciate hearing from any Bott or Botts family members, especially those with Channel Island Roots. Jersy Island is located in the Channel between France and England, It is fa mous for its Jersey Cows and our island, Prince Edward Island is famous because it is the birthplace and setting for "Anne of Green Gables" written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. We also have the world's longest bridge over water connecting the Island to our sister province of New Brunswick in Canada. Hope to hear from other interested Bott families.
