Research Interest: I am trying to link the WATSON family to the BONDS Family. The WATSON's that I am looking for are originally from Texas, then moved sometime in 1800's to Alabama. In researching my husbands side of the family (BONDS), we are only able to go back to his g-grandfather Thomas BONDS. I have also been searching on his grandmother Hazel Eudell WATSON BONDS side of the family. I believe that Alvin Baxter WATSON married Ruby Hazel HARRIS (possilby HARRISON). Hazel's mother was Ruby Hazel HARRIS(ON) WATSON (died sometime in 1926 in a car that may have been hit by a train). They married and had three children: (1) Harry Baxter WATSON, (2) Margaret Lucille WATSON (who married Otto FARRIS) (3) Hazel Eudell WATSON BONDS (born June 28, 1916) who is my husbands grandmother. Hazel's grandmother was Ophelia FERGUSON HARRIS (possilby HARRISON) and her grandfather we are not sure of his name, but we do know that he was probably Scotch-Irish and most likely lived in Texas, then in the 1800's moved to Alabama. We are certain that he was a master in furniture making. Hazel remember's having an Uncle Tom WATSON who married Ruth and they had 2 children one of them being J.P. WATSON. J.P. WATSON had 5 children. Uncle Tom WATSON we are certain, kept a journal/diary of the journey overseas. It is believed that J.P. WATSON's family still possesses this journal. Hazel also remember's having an Uncle Roland in Texas. Grandma Hazel is almost 84 years old, and would like to find her family. She is very proud of her heritage and believes them all to be very good people. I am looking for my husbands (BONDS) side of the tree. So far I am stumped. No punn intended. Here is the breakdown so far. Thomas BONDS had a wife that died in childbirth. He and his first wife had somewhere between 14 and 17 children (it is a different count depending on who you are talking to) In no specific birth order these are some of the known children. (1) Ronald BONDS (2) Moxie BONDS (3) Gwendalyn BONDS (married name not known) (4) Alvin BONDS (5) Juanita BONDS (never married) (6) Jerry/female BONDS (never married) (7) Virginia BONDS (never married) (8) Tubby?/female BONDS (married name not known, Tubby may be a nick name) (9) Red?/female BONDS (married name not known, Red is a nick name) Thomas BONDS son, Alvin (birthdate Dec 1, 1914/ death May 1984) married Hazel Eudell WATSON. Together they had 3 children - (1) Tommy Wayne BONDS, Sr. (2) Barbara Sue BONDS CRAIN(e) (3) Gary BONDS Later Hazel and Alvin adopted Hazel's father's brother's child (Cathy) If you have any information reguarding these families, I would greatly appreciate any information.
