Family history has it that three brothers, Peter, Phillip and
Henry/Paul?, and a sister Margarite? fled Germany when Napolean's
army was defeated. The brothers were in Napolean's army. They
came from Alsace-Lorraine but may have been born in Bavaria.
One brother may have moved to Dayton, OH. The sister may have
settled in Indiana. She never married and died shortly after
arriving in the US. Their surname was changed from "BUCHEIDT" to
Bohart. They were originally Protestant or Episcopalian. Peter
Bokehart and Phillip Bookhart are found in the 1870 US Census, KY,
Campbell County, 8 Mile Precinct but may have immigrated as early as
