Research Interest: John T. Bingham was born in Union TWP, PA and joined the civil war at the age of 16 (lied about his age). He signed up in Harrisburg, PA. Johns name on his military papers was spelled BINGAMAN and BIGAMAN. John died in 1928 at Elk Ranch, Arkansas. John married a young woman at sometime during his military career in PA and possibly had some children. He later went to Berryville AR to sell some horses and decided to begin a second life there with a young Cherokee woman named Dora Dove Rhoden, who at th e time of his purchase was 14 years old. Marrying Dove by the time she was 17, they had four children..John T. Jr( ca. 1890), Harry Lawrence(1892), James (1900) and Alice (1902). Mrs. Bingham #1 found him in Arkansas and moved right in, Mrs. Bingham #2 left with her four children and moved to the Chickashaw Reservation near Ada, Oklahoma. Dove died in a wagon accident in the winter of 1904. I am trying to find the name of Mrs. Bingham #1 and her children....etc. Any help would be appreciated.
