Research Interest: My husband's family came from France by way of Ireland. Our first documented Bevard in USA is John B. Bevard born 1770 in Ireland. In 1787 he married Hestor Smith born 1770 Maryland. They moved from Frederick Co. Maryland to Pa. about 1792. Then the f amily moved to Ohio. John died 1865 in Fulton Co. Illinios. We need to know who John and Hestor's parents are. They had several children but the only ones we have documented are Hannah b. 1789 in Md., Mathias b. 1790 Md., Jacob b. 1791 Md., John b. 179 3 Huntingto Co. Pa., George B. b. 1801 and Adam b. 1804 Huntington Co. Pa. They seemed to have moved to Ohio and on to Fulton Co. Illinois about 1854. Mathias and Jacob joined the war of 1812 from Muskington, Ohio. They were both POW. We need to find Mathias. Jacob married Ann Buckalew in Muskingdon Co. Ohio and he died in Bremer Co. Iowa.
