Research Interest: Jacob Bevard was born May 10, 1791 at Frederick Co. Md. He married Ann Buckalew in Muskingdon Co. Ohio July 10, 1817. His parents are John B. and Hester Smith Bevard. Jacob died in Bremer Co, Iowa from an injury. On his grave is a Military Stone that was requested from U.S Govenment by a mill Mabel A. Beckmeth of Camanche, Iowa 12/2/34 MG Headstone 4/2/35 Clinton Iowa. WHO IS SHE Jacob and his brother Mathias joined 1812 War 3rd Regt. Cass Ohio Vol Mil under Capt. John Spencer's Co. Rifleman . Both were POW. Jacob and Ann had several children but we have only documented three James Madison born 1819 in Ohio. George B. born 1822 in Ohio, Levi born 1825 in Ohio. We know there were more because of the cenus.
