Research Interest: Cora Bence was born on 27 Mar 1895 in Tallapoosa County AL. I have seen on online documents the the inital A for Ann, but I always thought her name was Cora Elizabeth. Cora was raised in Tallapoosa, and I found the 1900 Census for New Site, Tallapoosa, A L stated Cora E. Bence born in AL, Curtis as sibling and George B. as father. Another 1900 Census stated George B. Bence born in GA, Mattie as spouse and Curtis as children. Tallapoosa County is where my Great Grandfather, Jay Pearson Whatley 1892-197 3 , was raised and met Cora. They were married in Tallapoosa Co on 12 Jan 1911. They moved to Covington County AL to raise six children Aaron, Jeanette, Floy, Jay Theron my grandfather , Christine, Ire Lee. All raised families around Andalusia, excep t Christine moved to FL.
